SummaryThe Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (MSSLP) program in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences invites applications for adjunct Clinical Educators. These are part-time, as needed appointments. Clinical Educators with expertise in prevention, assessment, and treatment of pediatric or adult communication disorders are needed.
ResponsibilitiesResponsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University’s Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
-Developing and teaching didactic academic courses in the SLP curriculum, including undergraduate prerequisite and graduate courses
-Recording assessment data regarding student achievement at midterm and end of each semester
-Participation in faculty meetings upon request of the SLP Department Chair
Earned masters or doctoral degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology. At least 5 years of clinical experience as a speech-language pathologist is required. Must hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and must hold the Illinois state speech-language pathology license.
Preferred QualificationsExperience developing community-based services and supervising student clinicians and prior history of supervising student clinicians is preferred. History of university teaching experience preferred.
Essential Duties Work hoursPart-time; as needed basis; will be hired for Fall 2020 and Spring 2021.
