Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Field Engineer for a 3-5 month contract, to diagnose and resolve complex system issues while guiding others in problem-solving strategies. This role involves serving as the primary technical contact, offering onsite and remote coaching to address challenges effectively.

Responsibilities

Conduct system maintenance on field controllers, servers, workstations, and associated hardware.

Identify and communicate technical issues, recommending necessary upgrades, enhancements, or repairs.

Monitor equipment schedules and suggest modifications to optimize performance.

Oversee assigned tasks to ensure timely completion while exceeding customer quality expectations.

Maintain clear documentation and provide status updates to customers throughout the project.

Deliver customized training to owners and operators, ensuring a smooth transition for system upgrades and service improvements.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and Building Automation Controls.

Advanced expertise in TCP / IP networks, including wireless technologies.

Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience clearly.

Experience in navigating and integrating various building automation systems.

Ability to interpret and understand Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical blueprints.

Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Associate degree, Technical / Business School Certificate, or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or a related field.

Experience in managing multiple simultaneous challenges across various disciplines.

Capability of downloading, analyzing, and troubleshooting complex HVAC and building automation system logic.

Work Environment

The role requires a blend of onsite and remote work, focusing on maintaining and optimizing building automation systems. The position demands the use of electrical and mechanical skills, with a strong emphasis on understanding and applying automation systems. The work environment is dynamic, requiring the ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00 / hr.
