As a Physician (MD / DO) at knownwell, you will work alongside a team of committed physicians, APC’s, registered dietitians, registered nurses, registered pharmacist clinicians, and health coaches to provide comprehensive medical care, with a specific focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of obesity and obesity related conditions as appropriate in a primary care setting. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of patients by helping them improve their overall health.

Position : Hybrid, on-site and remote (2 days in office / 3 remote)

Location : Plano, Texas

Schedule : Monday-Friday with flexible scheduling (32 patient contact hours)

EMR : Athena

On-Call : Phone call only, in a rotation with initial triage by nurses

Responsibilities

• Sees adults ages 18+ for primary care, often with a focus on metabolic health, or adults for metabolic health only. Share a panel with APC (s).
• See pediatric patients ages 12+ for metabolic health only.
• Hybrid care delivery, remote and in-person patient care.
• Remote care using audio and visual technology to complete patient examinations, evaluation, assessments, diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Embodies the knownwell mission and values of patient inclusivity in how you deliver care.
• Coordinates with the broader care team to ensure the patient has the support they need.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications recommended, but not required.
• Documents as necessary to ensure accurate billing, including review of remote patient monitoring data.
• Communicates with patients in a timely manner through our portal for questions and concerns that have been pre-screened to necessitate a clinician response.
• Ensure your patient panel is open to any individual, regardless of their current health status and comorbidities.
• Listen to the aspirations of the patient and ensure care is tailored to the patient’s unique health journey.
• Provide an environment in which patients feel comfortable and free from judgment.
• Offer exceptional encouragement as patients reach their goals.
• Escalate any concerns to your dedicated site leadership team.
• Provide clinical guidance to advance practice clinicians, medical assistants, and nursing teams as assigned.
• Stay current with licensure and appropriate re-certifications
