Physician - Surgery - Neuro Colorado Springs

Summary : Penrose Main Hospital is looking for additional Neurosurgery locums to help fill their 2025 needs and to help backfill for locum who requires a 6 month break. Candidates must be available for any of the stints in the job description to be considered for ongoing dates.

Rate Caps for Submission :

Malpractice - Must be included in rates.

Orientation -

• half the hourly / callback rate
• kicks in after 8 hours. "Per hour of orientation or training beyond 8 hours"

Holiday - Must be 1.5x the regular rate

ongoing dates are TBD, when schedules are released.

Details : 24 hour call (7a-7a)

16-17 shifts per month needed from all locums.

Site will schedule providers a max of 7 consecutive days per stint.

Required Procedures / Job Duties : Surgical traumas (Cranial and Spine)

EMR : Yes / EPIC

Support Staff : RN, MA

Reason for Coverage : Short staffed

Dealbreakers (Do Not Present) : Lack of availability for requested dates and provider required for break starting May 1, 2025.

EMR Required Training :

Module (learn lessons) - Must be completed prior to providers first day.

EMR Onsite training - Only able to attend if Modules are completed before training. Provider will be scheduled for onsite EMR training if Modules are completed, the morning of their first day.

Travel Preferences :

Preferred Lodging : Candidates must follow CSH Travel Policy.

Air Travel : Acceptable

Please detail any anticipated travel exceptions, for example a dietary restriction necessitating specific lodging situations. Travel exception requests will be denied if this information is not part of the provider presentation. Please also indicate the city where provider will be traveling from in the travel section of the provider submission.

How many surgeons are they supporting? - The trauma team and two local neurosurgeons

What is the hospital's volume? - Hospital volume varies, there is no set number

Is there any endovascular requirement? - No endovascular requirement needed. We have a local provider.

Board Certified Neurological Surgery - Required

Active CO license - Required for January dates

Active CO License - Required or IMLC (LOQ at time of submission) - June dates only

Candidate must be available for the Jan stint to be considered for ongoing dates. - Required

Must state # of shifts per month to offer ongoing - Required

Completion of Neurosurgical residency - Required

Must acknowledge candidate understands the EMR training requirements set forth in job description and will complete in this order to avoid missing their start date - Required
