KPMG is currentlyseeking a Director, Financial Communications to join our Corporate Affairsorganization.
Responsibilities
- Leadstrategic direction forthecommunicationsofthe firm'sfinancialearnings and business resultsto key stakeholders;this includesoverall communications strategies for financial reporting, ensuring alignment with firmwide strategy and goals
- Support the development and execution of an integrated communications strategy for the Office of the Chief Operating Officer (OCOO) and ensure alignment with the functions and Business Process Groups (Talent & Culture, Legal, Risk Management, Technology, etc.), helping to drive the group's collective transformation agenda
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and other Business Process Group (BPG) Vice Chairs and leaders. Provide counsel on messaging for firm financial performance as it relates to the strategy and operational transformation bringing forward new ideas based on internal factors and external trends
- Develop a wide range of communications materials, including executive talking points, video scripts, presentations for the Board and Management Committee, thought leadership articles, social media, and content for internal channels, to ensure consistent and effective messaging to drive the broader firm strategy
- Build andmaintainrelationships with financial and business media outlets,identifyingkey moments for media amplification on topics like AI-driven operations, transformation, and workforce evolution;bean avid consumer of traditional news and social media, bringing external trends and case studies into communications
- Establish and oversee best-practice systems for optimizing communications, measuring progress against KPIs for executive visibility, employee engagement, and external reputation; ensure all communications adhere to legal and regulatory guidelines; effectively manage, coach and mentor team members to operate successfully in a very high-performing culture
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience, with deep expertise in a combination of financial communications, internal communications, media relations and change management within a large, complex organization
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; Master's Degree preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of financial statements, key performance indicatorsincluding experienceunderstanding how partnership financials differ from corporate entities. Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear, compelling narratives for diverse internal and external audiences
- Exceptional writing, editing, andpresentationskills, including the ability to present conceptsand ideas toseniorleadershipconfidently and persuasivelyin-person and virtually; adept at usingtechnology, includingAI to innovate for greater efficiency and effectiveness
- Strategic thinker withstrong experience as a trusted advisor to the C-suite andexpertisein developing and executing effective communications strategies; agency experience preferred; experience building and managing relationships with the financial press and other media outlets is essential
- Progressively increasing experiencewithidentifyingandflagging issues thatimpactthe firm's reputation with its people and external stakeholders; superiorpeople manager and coachwho can lead and excel in a fast-paced, high-performingenvironment
