Finance Position
You will review and evaluate budget requests to report obligations and expenditures to management.
You will track and control funds for programs to ensure proper usage of funds.
You will interpret budgetary policy and regulations for customers.
You will research budget, accounting, and fiscal information to prepare summaries for management.
You will analyze budget, accounting, and fiscal information to provide advice and guidance to customers and management.
You will analyze travel documents for accuracy.
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

This is a bargaining unit position.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and / or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines.
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following : 1) Analyzing and interpreting sources of financial information and applying such to specific areas of work; 2) Using specific procedures or automated financial systems to research, review, process, or change accounting data in transaction files, ledgers, accounts, summary reports, etc.; and 3) Ensuring organizational financial practices are in compliance with financial management rules and regulations.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience : 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement or a combination of experience and graduate education.
