Entry Level Accounting Technician (5337)

Old Harbor Solutions, a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking a Entry Level Accounting Technician to support our client in Ft. Benning, GA.

Qualified candidates will be expected to provide document data analysis and administrative support services.

Responsibilities include but not are limited to the following:

• Record a variety of source documentation into financial and other management systems, spreadsheets and databases;
• Process, verify and submit payments;
• Provide support in general accounting clerical operations;
• Ensure that transactions and expenditures do not exceed the amount of the obligations;
• Complete data input assignments, prepare letters/emails;
• Performs one, or more routine accounting clerical operations, such as: examining, verifying, and correcting accounting transactions to insure completeness, accuracy of data and proper identification of accounts;
• Totaling, balancing, and reconciling collection vouchers;
• Posting data to transaction sheets where employee identifies proper accounts and items to be posted;
• Coding documents in accordance with a chart (listing) of accounts;
• Follow specific and detailed accounting procedures. Completed work is reviewed for accuracy and compliance with procedures.
• Perform related work as required.

Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
• Must be able to pass an Agency background check.
• Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred) or four (4) years specialized or relevant educational experience/knowledge of accounts payable/receivable experience and/or financial training to include the development of financial diagrams, exercises and training or a combination of both totaling four years
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Skill using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Demonstrated experience with Excel and SAP Software Solutions
