Position & Client Overview :

Our client, a large reference laboratory located across the United States, seeks cytotechnologists to test in their busy anatomic reference laboratory in the Chicago area. These are day shift positions with rotating weekends and no call.

Salary Range : $80,000-100,000 / year

Job Summary :

Analyze fluid and tissue specimens for microscopic cellular abnormalities. Work closely with pathologists and independently.

Skill Requirements :

• Calibrate, operate, troubleshoot and maintain the equipment
• Dexterity and good hand-eye coordination are required to collect and prepare specimens
• Critical thinking skills to recognize problems and develop solutions or alternative approaches
• Lab safety and infection prevention is of paramount importance
• Handle pressure responsibility, often performing highly detailed microscopic work for long periods of time
