Autonomous Specialist

Transdev's Autonomous Specialists are critical to the success of delivering safe autonomous driving systems to our customers, enabling a revolutionary mobility experience. The Autonomous Specialist is responsible for operating and evaluating a self-driving vehicle in autonomous mode, including collecting data and providing feedback, and offering ride hail service to the general public. Benefits may vary depending on location policy. The below represents the standard corporate policy. Competitive compensation package of minimum $28.00 maximum $32.00. Work Schedule : By applying for this position, you acknowledge and understand that shift assignments are determined based on business and operational needs specific to the Los Angeles market. Available shifts include 2 : 00 p.m., 3 : 00 p.m., 4 : 00 p.m., and 5 : 00 p.m., with corresponding schedules of WednesdaySunday, ThursdayMonday, FridayTuesday, or SaturdayWednesday. Final shift assignments will be determined according to client requirements and operational priorities and may be adjusted as needed to support business demands.

Key Responsibilities :

• Maintain Transdev's high standard of safety, inside and outside of the vehicle;
• Consistently demonstrate situational awareness, an understanding of the technology in his / her care, and a willingness to constantly adjust to changes in the environment;
• Be the deputy for technology by communicating courteously always with management, engineers, and the public;
• Capable of responding quickly to changing and potentially high-pressure environments;
• Work mostly individually but also in small groups of 2-10 people;
• Operate a vehicle 6-8 hours a day, up to 5 days a week;
• Follow established diagnostic guides to troubleshoot driver support modules;
• Provide rides in the autonomous vehicle to the general public;
• Monitor multiple software systems with constant focus;
• Provide concise, clear, and accurate verbal and written feedback regarding the vehicle's operations;
• Responsible for managing the vehicle's key security process;
• Complete daily reports and document procedures and tests;
• Interact with the members of the public in a polite and professional manner, and assist in educating them on self-driving technology when necessary;
• Operate autonomous vehicles on both defined and undefined routes, including a variety of environmental conditions;
• Operate onboard data collection systems;
• Comfortable riding as a passenger in an autonomous vehicle, where the driver may have little control over the vehicle's operations;
• Safely operates a non-autonomous vehicle while monitoring the location of a driverless vehicle(s) during vehicle recovery operations;
• Responsible for the safe recovery of the autonomous vehicle which includes but is not limited to parking safely behind the driverless vehicle, setting up protection, disengaging the self-driving car and driving the car to a safe location;
• Apply safety procedures to any situation involving rescue of the self-driving car;
• Oversee and ensure the security and importing of disks including accounting of at the beginning and end of shift, and ensuring there is the proper amount of disks needed throughout the day;
• Will assist as a POC for client Security and Facilities staff for issues and repairs at remote site(s);
• Exercise excellent customer service while assisting passengers of the driverless vehicle to disembark, board the rescue vehicle and safely drive passengers to their destination;
• Assist software progress by testing new features;
• Document recurring issues of new software and any potential bugs;
• Follow weekly release emails and bug reports to stay up to date;
• Work closely with Operations Supervisor to keep demo documentation accurate and up to date (i.e. create / maintain demo routes and best practices, daily and weekly emails);
• Represent Client by showcasing self-driving technology to Client's guests in a friendly, concise manner while
• Must be able to work assigned shift; and
• All other duties as assigned
