Cyber Security Technician

Description:

The Cyber Security Technician (7) conducts shipboard cybersecurity assessments, vulnerability scanning, RMF compliance checks, and A&A support for surface ships. Responsibilities include ACAS scanning, ESS analysis, VRAM/POA&M updates, IA compliance validation, cyber bill development support, and training assist visits.

Technicians provide hands-on support to shipboard IT personnel, develop training materials, prepare technical reports, conduct cyber spot-checks, and support accreditation and ATO documentation.

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of IT/cybersecurity experience, ideally in Navy shipboard environments.
• Strong knowledge of ACAS, ESS, VRAM, STIGs, IAVM compliance, RMF, and ATO processes.
• Experience conducting cyber inspections or readiness assessments.
• Ability to train shipboard personnel and prepare NAVEDTRA-aligned materials.
• Experience writing detailed technical findings and cyber readiness reports.
• Ability to travel extensively to CONUS/OCONUS operational locations.
