MATERIALS HANDLER INSPECTOR

Summary

You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER INSPECTOR in the ORDNANCE OPERATIONS DIVISION of NMC CWD DET SEAL BEACH.

Duties

Help

• You will assure the quality and safety of ordnance material and operations as related to the receipt, issue, storage, handling, segregation, renovation, preservation, and packing of such items.
• You will perform inspections to determine adequacy of operations and facilitates.
• You will perform receipt and issue inspection of ordnance items and certify them as ready for issue.
• You will determine the detail locations within storage facilities and assure proper stowage of cargo within vessels per load plan.
• You will offload and onload ordnance materials from trucks, rail cars, vessels and other conveyances using forklifts, manual and mechanized pallet jacks, side loaders and stacker cranes.
• You will operate forklift trucks in areas including warehouses, railroad cars, trucks, vessels, and other confined spaces as well as outside areas having a variety of unpaved, unimproved, or rough surfaces.
• You will construct, place, sheath and install wooden blocks, wedges, bracing structures, partition bulkheads, deck boxes and other staying devices.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and / or unusual duty hours may be required.
