Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Ledger Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in managing the financial operations of our company, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting and bookkeeping tasks across our multi-state operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. General Bookkeeping:
   • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
   • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
2. Payroll Management:
   • Record payroll and payroll tax activity for employees located across multiple states, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
   • Correspond with our payroll provider to help maintain up-to-date payroll account information to ensure the accuracy of payroll tax reporting and deductions.
3. Vendor Management:
   • Record vendor invoices across multiple states to ensure timely and accurate recording of expenses and liabilities.
   • Maintain accounts payable subledger and A/P Aging to ensure timely payments to vendors.
4. State-Specific Compliance:
   • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax requirements for all operating states.
   • Review payroll providers filings to ensure accurate reporting and correspond with our payroll provider as necessary to ensure they have the latest updated information to prepare and file state-specific tax forms and reports accurately.
5. Financial Reporting:
   • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
   • Assist with budget preparation and forecasting.
6. Audit Support:
   • Prepare documentation and provide support during internal and external audits.
7. Software Proficiency:
   • We use Financial Management Software. Though preferred, knowledge of WinTeam is not required, but you must be willing to learn and become proficient with the WinTeam Accounting and Financial Management Software.
   • Proficiency in payroll and financial management tools as necessary to maintain efficiency, accuracy and documentation requirements of the company’s activity.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Experience managing finances for multi-state operations is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills:

1. • Proficiency in an accounting software and willingness to learn and become proficient with the WinTeam Accounting and Financial Management Software.

• • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with state-specific tax laws and payroll regulations.
  • Understanding of multi-state financial operations.
• Other Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Work Environment:

• Potential for remote or hybrid work schedule (depending on proficiency). Persons residing in the Dallas/Fort Worth area preferred since this position will require some in-office work.
