Job Summary

As a PRN RN in the Critical Care Float Pool, you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care by utilizing the nursing process. This role includes performing nursing assessments, assisting with examinations and treatments, providing patient education, and maintaining comprehensive medical records. Memorial Hermann Health System hires RNs based on years of experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Education : Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelor of Nursing preferred.

Licenses / Certifications :

  • Current State of Texas license or temporary / compact license to practice professional nursing.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and / or nursing unit requirements.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills :

  • RN I
  • RN II = 1-3 years
  • RN III = 3-10 years
  • RN IV = 10+ years
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to the Partners-in-Caring process, integrating our culture in all customer interactions.

    • Principal Accountabilities

  • Provide safe, appropriate care to patients, aligned with their age and needs.
  • Coordinate nursing care planning with an interdisciplinary team, making informed clinical decisions.
  • Collaborate, direct, and delegate to the healthcare team, striving for positive outcomes based on data, research, and standards of care.
  • Engage in ongoing evaluation of programs and processes to achieve desired client-centered outcomes.
  • Understand and meet the diverse needs of patients, enhancing the overall patient experience.
  • Promote a safe and accountable environment by adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies and procedures, ensuring efficient resource management.
  • Foster your professional growth through mandatory and continuing education, while supporting departmental goals.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards.
  • Fulfill other assigned duties within your scope of practice and clinical competency.
  • Ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors, following established guidelines for service quality and resource utilization.
  • Mentor and serve as a resource for less experienced staff.
