Job Description

Target Ratio : 2 : 1. EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED. We are a mixed unit of COVID and Non-COVID, but we are mindful of rotating team members caring for COVID patients. This is an adult acute dialysis unit. We do not serve the pediatric population. Patients requiring the following specialized services would be included in our patient population :

• Hemodialysis
• Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Peritoneal Dialysis
• Apheresis
• Patients in need of a Temporary Dialysis Catheter
• Patients in need of removal of Permanent Dialysis Catheter
• Patients requiring Non-Invasive Ventilation (CPAP / BiPAP). EPIC, PYXIS AND SBAR. The Renal Dialysis Unit is a 12 bay unit for treating acute and chronic renal failure patients. In addition to Hemodialysis, we provide Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy in partnership with Critical Care team members as well as Peritoneal Dialysis, and Apheresis. Our sense of family makes us a strong team as we work together to provide remarkable, quality, and safe care to our patients. Travel Nurses are mainly used in the dialysis unit for Hemodialysis treatments only, but if they are competent in the other modalities and want to provide those treatments, they can do those as well. Special Equipment used : HD Machine : 2008T with Clic, NxStage CRRT machine, Hoyer Lift, Amicus Machine for Therapeutic Plasmapheresis Exchanges and WBC Depletion, Baxter PD, Cyclers, Abbott Glucometer, Abbott I-Stat machine. CERTIFICATIONS : ACLS PREFERRED. SKILLS : TELEMETRY PREFERRED. Minimum Experience Required : 2 YEARS. Unit Accepts 1st time Traveler : YES. 24 HRS OF ORIENTATION. Navy Blue or Powder Blue SCRUBS.
