Position Summary:
We are looking for an Experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our service department. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accurate repair processes, high-quality customer service, team leadership, and overall shop efficiency. The Service Manager will serve as the bridge between customers, technicians, and management while driving growth, profitability, and excellence in service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Service Operations:
    • Manage daily service workflow, including scheduling, dispatching, and repair order accuracy.
    • Review and approve repair orders, ensuring proper documentation of customer concerns and technician findings.
    • Monitor service performance, productivity, and labor hours to meet company standards.
    • Ensure compliance with state safety and emissions regulations.
  • Customer Relations:
    • Provide clear and professional communication regarding repairs, costs, and timelines.
    • Address and resolve customer concerns promptly to build long-term trust and loyalty.
    • Oversee follow-up calls for declined work, maintenance reminders, and warranty claims.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise, coach, and motivate technicians.
    • Hold team members accountable for performance, quality, and safety.
    • Provide training and guidance to improve technical and customer service skills.
  • Business & Financial Performance:
    • Manage profitability by monitoring parts margins, labor efficiency, and shop KPIs.
    • Support business growth through fleet accounts, warranty programs, and customer retention strategies.
    • Assist in implementing marketing and service promotions.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5+ years of proven experience as an Automotive Service Manager, Service Writer, or equivalent role.
  • Strong understanding of diagnostics, repair processes, and state inspection/emissions requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, sales, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Proficiency with shop management software (Tekmetric preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
