Network Technician

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Network Technician

Position type: Fulltime - Contract role
Duration: 6+ Months
Location: Miami, FL

As a Network Technician, you will:

• Provide on-site support for hardware, software, and network troubleshooting, imaging, deployment, and rebuilds.
• Install, configure, and test network assets (switches, routers, firewalls, AV equipment, CCTV, DAS, Wi-Fi).
• Perform preventive maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to ensure optimal system performance.
• Conduct network closet clean-up, switch port optimization, and site surveys.
• Support wireless systems (DAS, Wi-Fi), AV installations (projectors, speakers, displays), and physical security systems (CCTV, access control).
• Complete work orders for moves, adds, changes (MAC), and decommissions.
• Document work progress, time/materials, and ensure compliance with SLAs and OSHA standards.
• Respond to emergency situations and participate in on-call rotations.
• Transport tools/equipment and attend training sessions as required.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Associate degree or technical certification, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of data networking experience in field service, data center, or IT technician roles.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (Layers 2 & 3, VPNs, routing protocols, firewalls).
• Experience with Cisco phones, routers, switches, and enterprise-class networking equipment.
• Proficiency with cabling, racks, UPS systems, and network monitoring tools.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to configure devices via laptop.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to lift up to 50–100 lbs safely.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Industry certifications (A+, Network+, Server+, Microsoft, Cisco, Aruba, CommScope, Corning, etc.).
• Experience with AV systems (Crestron, AMX, Extron, Panasonic, Sharp) and video conferencing (Cisco, Polycom).
• Familiarity with physical security systems (Axis, Pelco, Assa Abloy, Securitron).
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to read blueprints and technical documents.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: Between $24 - $26 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
