PGS Worldwide is seeking a Microelectronics Assembler in Chelmsford, MA for a 1-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This is an onsite production role focused on assembling electronic components and sub-assemblies while following work instructions and drawings, using microscopes and hand tools to meet quality requirements. This role is assigned to 2nd shift; however, the selected contractor must start and train on 1st shift before transitioning to 2nd shift. An interim Secret clearance is required to start, and the supplier must begin the interim clearance process at the offer stage.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills (timekeeping, accessing digital work instructions, task confirmation, and data entry)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Knowledge of ESD procedures and safe handling of electronic hardware
- Ability to work with small parts using visual magnification (microscope work)
- Ability to learn J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610
- Interim Secret clearance required to start (interim process initiated at offer stage)
- Must be able to train on 1st shift before moving to 2nd shift
Preferred Skills - Experience with electrical and/or microelectronics assembly
- Familiarity with measuring instruments and electronic test equipment
- Experience using hand tools and pneumatic tools (e.g., tweezers, cutters, torque drivers, screwdrivers)
What You'll Do - Assemble electronic components, sub-assemblies, and products per work instructions and drawings
- Use microscopes, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment to support quality requirements
- Read and interpret assembly process/work instructions
- Work with components ranging from microscopic to larger hardware requiring magnification
- Use hand tools and pneumatic tools to complete assembly tasks
- Maintain accurate production data entry and documentation
- Collaborate with team members to support throughput and continuous improvement
Work Schedule / Shift - 2nd shift, full-time: Monday-Thursday, 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM (overtime may be available)
- Training requirement: Must start and train on 1st shift: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, before moving to 2nd shift
