NSC Staffing s seeking an experienced Journeyman Welder with Active Clearance. This position is ideal for highly skilled welders with extensive experience in shipbuilding, power plant construction, bridge construction, or large-scale commercial construction environments. Position Overview:
As a Journeyman Welder with an active clearance, this role requires in-depth knowledge of welding procedures, blueprint interpretation, and strict adherence to safety standards. You will work with multiple welding processes, including SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW, ensuring all welds meet applicable codes, specifications, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform welding tasks in heavy industrial environments such as shipbuilding, power plants, bridge construction, and commercial construction sites
Utilize proper welding techniques and procedures to produce high-quality welds
Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and welding symbols accurately
Set up and operate grinding containments and welding equipment safely
Perform welding using SMAW, FCAW (automatic), and GTAW processes
Follow OSHA safety regulations and site-specific safety requirements
Maintain accurate documentation related to welding activities and inspections
Work efficiently while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and safety

Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum six (6) years of verifiable welding experience in heavy industrial applications
Proven experience in shipbuilding, power plant construction, bridge construction, or commercial building construction
Proficient in Submerged Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Flux-Core Automatic Welding (FCAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
Strong knowledge of welding best practices and quality control standards
Skilled in blueprint reading, layout procedures, and welding symbol interpretation
Experience with grinding containments and related equipment
OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 certification required
High School Diploma, Vocational School Diploma, or GED required
Completion of a formal welding training program preferred (apprenticeship, technical school, military training, or formal company program)
U.S. Citizen with an active or eligible Secret Security Clearance

Work Environment:
This role involves working in industrial or shipyard settings, which may include confined spaces, elevated platforms, and variable temperatures. Candidates should be comfortable working in physically demanding conditions and following established quality and production standards.
