AlphaGraphics Commercial Printing Services (Tucson) is hiring a production minded VDP Specialist to build high-accuracy personalized print and direct mail projects. This position produces fundraising letters with response devices, statements, postcards, EDDM, and other variable pieces. This role blends FusionPro-driven variable output with mail list processing and USPS mailing prep.

Essential Job Functions:

• Build and produce VDP jobs using FusionPro (Composer/Creator), including rules-based logic and output generation.
• Prepare and maintain templates in Adobe InDesign and proof/review output in Acrobat Pro.
• Generate print-ready PDFs with correct record counts, versions, and sequencing.
• Create proofs, seed records, and internal QC samples for stakeholders.
• Implement and troubleshoot variable elements such as:

-Responsible for development of databases for mailing and addressing for each project.
-Review the instructions, job jacket and samples to confirm all details are clear and concise.
-Provide applicable team members with totals of records by various types and categories, seeds to send example pieces through the entire process to monitors at the client organization, and samples of the physical product to be mailed for use by the client and the design team dependent on the project needs.
-Inspect product going to the post office to ensure all tasks were performed on the outgoing product.


Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years in variable data printing / digital print production / data-driven print workflows
• Experience with FusionPro (or equivalent VDP tools) and comfort with rules/logic (JavaScript rules experience is a plus)
• Working proficiency with InDesign and Acrobat Pro in a production environment
• Strong Excel skills for data cleanup (sorting/filtering, text functions, lookups; pivots helpful)
• Detail-oriented mindset with a “measure twice, print once” approach

Additional Knowledge and Experience Preferred:

• Experience with BCC Bulk Mailer Pro (or BCC Mail Manager) or other presort/address tools
• Familiarity with USPS-related processes: CASS, NCOA, presort, postage statements, mailing documentation
• Direct mail production experience (letters, response devices, envelopes, postcards, EDDM)
