Our Abilene office is looking for dedicated candidates to join their team as Dental Assistants! We provide on the job training, so certification is not required to be hired as a DA.

Job Purpose

To assist the dentist effectively and efficiently in providing dental care to patients and to promote Familia Dental's culture and mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and escort patient in a professional and friendly manner from reception area to and from the treatment areas.
• Ensure treatment rooms are equipped and stocked with inventory and re-order when necessary.
• Take and record patient's medical and dental histories and vital signs, blood pressure & pulse.
• Document / chart all dental procedures performed during each patient visit per Dentist's instructions and legal requirements.
• Take and develop dental diagnostic x-rays.
• Pour and base diagnostic models and fabricate temporary restorations - as allowed by state law.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials and assist Dentist during dental procedures.
• Effectively provide dental education and information to patients to ensure patient awareness of dental health, and oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling).
• Notify Office Manager of equipment trouble or general safety concerns
• Attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews and regular office meetings..
• Recognize and be sensitives to patients' emotions
• Understand and follow company policy and procedures
• Understand and follow state and federal laws related to a dental office
• Other tasks as assigned.

Working hours between : M-F, 8 : 30 AM - 7 : 00 PM and Sat, 8 : 30 AM - 5 PM
