Job Summary The Supply Planning Manager will oversee the company’s supply planning function, ensuring consistent product availability, efficient inventory utilization, and alignment with business objectives across all distribution centers. This role requires a balance of strategic leadership and operational execution, with responsibility for leading a team of Supply Planners, enhancing cross-functional collaboration, and driving continuous improvement in supply planning processes.
The Supply Planning Manager will play a pivotal role in the company’s S&OP process, ensuring supply strategies are aligned with demand forecasts, supplier capabilities, and corporate financial goals.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & People Development:
- Lead, coach, and mentor the Supply Planning team, ensuring clarity of roles, accountability, and performance development.
- Build a high-performing team culture focused on problem-solving, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex planning issues, providing direction and resolution.
Strategic Supply Planning
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve supply planning processes and tools to ensure efficiency and scalability.
- Partner with the Director of Supply Chain to set stocking policies, safety stock levels, and Days of Supply (DOS) targets across the network.
- Ensure consistency of planning practices across all distribution centers.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Demand Planning, Sales, Finance, and Operations to ensure business objectives are met.
- Act as the supply chain liaison during new product launches, promotions, and strategic initiatives.
- Provide insights to senior leadership regarding supply risks, opportunities, and trade-off scenarios.
Supplier & Network Management
- Manage supplier performance and escalate systemic issues impacting service levels or lead times.
- Support strategic sourcing decisions and supplier negotiations to improve supply reliability and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for intercompany transfers and sourcing optimization.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor KPIs such as fill rates, order accuracy, inventory turnover, and supply reliability, and driving corrective actions as needed.
- Lead projects to enhance planning tools, reporting, and automation.
- Benchmark industry best practices and implement initiatives to improve agility, visibility, and decision-making.
S&OP Process Contribution
- Lead supply review meetings within the S&OP process.
- Present supply scenarios, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Ensure proactive alignment of supply plans with demand forecasts and financial objectives.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or inventory management roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial or lead capacity.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing suppliers and inventory targets.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and strong Excel and data analysis skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities.
- Knowledge of supply chain best practices, inventory management methodologies, importing inventory and financial controls.

This role requires regular, ongoing in-office presence. Employees are expected to work onsite, which includes non-company locations where we conduct business, the majority of the time to support collaboration, productivity, and business operations according to the schedule set by supervisors and/or branch management.
