POSITION PURPOSE:
The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for the overall operations of an El Pollo Loco restaurant, managing every facet of the business. This role involves leading efforts to deliver exceptional and consistent experiences for both customers and staff while ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards. You will strive to surpass sales and profitability goals while fostering a productive, engaged team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively manages, coaches, and recognizes team member performances to enhance restaurant efficiency and operations.
- Trains the team on opening and closing procedures in accordance with company policies, overseeing restaurant setup, food prep, and sanitation.
- Optimizes labor through efficient workforce planning and scheduling to match anticipated sales, ensuring high productivity and service standards.
- Provides hands-on support by maintaining coverage at all restaurant workstations and stepping in to cover team breaks as needed.
- Focuses on guest service quality and speed, ensuring the restaurant meets company objectives for timely service and operational metrics.
- Schedules staff effectively to meet service requirements based on sales projections and labor guidelines.
- Oversees the entire hiring process, from interviews to training, ensuring effective, compliant staffing practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support restaurant operations.
QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

Education/Work Experience:
Must be at least 18 years old. A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred. Prior experience as an El Pollo Loco Assistant Manager or three years in a management role, ideally within a restaurant environment, is required.
License/Certifications:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle for company use.
- Must obtain Serve Safe Certification.
