VMRC is a Christ-centered, nonprofit continuing care retirement community offering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care for older adults. Cafe Worker Position :

$15.75 - $20.27

This position is primarily responsible for preparing and cooking various food choices for residents, employees, and visitors while maintaining a high level of quality service. It is also responsible for cleaning and proper usage of equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas.

The starting pay rate is $15.75 - $20.27 based on previous experience and qualifications.

WORK SCHEDULE :

• 6 : 30am - 3 : 00pm, Monday-Friday and every other Saturday (a weekday will be provided off when scheduled to work Saturday)
• 80 hours per pay period (every 2 weeks)
• Eligible for benefits on date of hire

Requirements :

As a condition for employment, VMRC requires all employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. If selected for a pending job offer, the candidate will be required to receive the COVID-19 vaccination(s) or provide proof of prior COVID-19 vaccination(s) before the date of hire.

Education and Experience : High school graduate or GED equivalent; preferred minimum of one year cooking experience in an institutional food service environment.

Regulatory Knowledge : Working knowledge of HACCP and OSHA protocols (additional training can be provided).

Physical and Cognitive Skills : Ability to stand for long periods and lift / carry up to 35 pounds; detail-oriented with basic mathematical skills.

Language and Independence : Ability to read, write, speak, and understand basic English; capable of acting and intervening independently in routine and emergency situations; self-motivated with wise time scheduling and adaptability to changes.

Interpersonal Skills and Availability : Deals tactfully with residents, families, and the general public in a positive, professional, customer-first manner; available to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as scheduled; fluency in a second language is a plus.
