Job Description :

At Regionsthe Mainframe Systems Engineer installs and maintains mainframe operating systems ensuring the stability performance and security of our mainframe environment while driving innovation and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

• Evaluates system specifications input / output processes and working parameters for hardware / software compatibility
• Troubleshoots and resolves complex technical issues related to mainframe systems and applications
• Administers configures and maintains mainframe systems including hardware operating systems and software components
• Maintains operational effectiveness and efficiency by monitoring evaluating and adjusting mainframe operating systems
• Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
• Maintains installation records by documenting system configurations procedures and best practices
• Resolves problems by determining cause providing technical assistance to applications and other support staff
• Develops and implements backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity
• Covers on call 24x7 on a rotating basis for problem resolution and SEV1 incidents

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Skills and Competencies

This position is currently offsite; however associate must be within a reasonable driving distance to Birmingham AL Atlanta GA or Charlotte NC. Associates will work from their home primarily. They may be expected to go on site for meetings or other events as needed

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include : experience skills knowledge contribution job location and most importantly performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
