Mercor is seeking highly skilled

  • Generalists
  • (Bachelor’s degree minimum) and
  • Specialists
  • (Psychology, Psychiatry, Mental Health, or Counseling) to contribute to a fast-moving project with one of the world’s leading AI labs. This initiative focuses on improving AI systems designed for therapeutic-style conversations by evaluating, comparing, and refining model-generated responses.

In this role, you will assess pairs of AI-generated replies for empathy, therapeutic accuracy, emotional insight, and communication quality—then provide improved rewrites when needed. Your work will directly support research teams as they refine safe, supportive, and human-aligned AI systems capable of high-quality mental-health-oriented dialogue.

  • Role Requirements
  • ### Generalists - Bachelor’s degree minimum - Strong written communication and analytical skills - Ability to follow structured evaluation criteria with high consistency - Interest in psychology, counseling, human communication, or AI safety ### Specialists - Background in
  • Psychology, Psychiatry, Mental Health, Counseling, or related fields
  • Deep familiarity with therapeutic communication styles and reflective techniques - Ability to assess emotional nuance and relational quality in dialogue - Strong attention to detail and comfort evaluating sensitive content ### Required for All Candidates - Ability to commit
  • 6-7 hours of work by Thursday EOD
  • Attendance at a
  • mandatory Wednesday morning onboarding session (EST)
  • Excellent written English - Comfort working fully remote and asynchronously - Reliability under short deadlines - Interest in advancing safe and responsible AI in mental-health contexts
