Elms College, located in Chicopee, MA, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, Associate Professor of Business faculty position reporting to the Chair of the Division of Business.
The Director manages day to day operational excellence while providing strategic direction for the MBA / Graduate Business Programs. This includes direct responsibility and touchpoints for both students and adjunct faculty in the program. Additionally, the Director is involved with course design, accreditation activities, policy development and ensuring continuous improvement that enhance the student experience. They are the primary face internally and externally for the program. This is a tenure-track faculty position with an administrative appointment, beginning July 1,2026. This position is a six-course teaching load. The ideal candidate has expertise in Accounting and Finance.
RESPONSABILITIES AND FUCTIONS :
- Provide strategic and operational expertise and oversight of the MBA / Graduate Business Programs.
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the MBA / Graduate Business Program that is in alignment with the division of business and the overall institution.
ADMISSION / STUDENTS :
Responsible for MBA / Graduate Business admissions process.Decision maker and primary evaluator of MBA / Graduate Business applications.Primary touchpoint once accepted to coordinate knowledge bridge, create and administer orientation and Moodle training, plan and register classes.Advises all students, conducts planning and mapping of student degree paths.Administers academic accountability : facilitates mediation and conflict resolution of student issues / concerns in accordance with MBA / Graduate Business guidelines and college police to ensure fair and consistent practices.Collects and analyzes student feedback to continuously enhance the student experience.Participates in quarterly information sessions with Graduate Admissions office.ADJUNCT FACULTY :
Recruits, interviews, hires, on-boards and continuously mentors new and existing adjunct faculty.Creates / nurtures a pool of qualified successors for Graduate Business courses.Oversees the adjunct contract processCURRICULUM / ACCREADITATION :
Develops / enhances curriculum for each of the tracks.Understands and sets goals to continuously improve and uphold IACBE accreditation standards in MBA / Graduate Business Program and CFP accreditation standards for Financial Planning tracks.Creates a marketing plan for CFP-related programs. Collects outcome assessment data on programs.Prepares and analyzes reporting from outbound exams, benchmarked against peer institutions, and makes recommendations for enhancements.Designs, develops, and implements Pathways to Leaders programs quarterly.Creates new potential tracks for graduate business in conjunction with other departments as requested.OTHER :
Continuously builds interdepartmental relationships while streamlining processes for efficiency (registrar, student accounts, financial aid).Works closely with the School of Nursing to complement and administer the dual MSN / MBA degree program.Develops and manages the MBA Budget.Participates in the Business Executive Advisory Council composed of community business leaders.Develops a Financial Planning Advisory Council and Marketing Plan per accreditation requirements.Stays informed via list servs, regional employer partners, and educational entities of competition and trends related to Graduate Business / MBA Programs.Serves as a representative for Elms College in public appearances that promote Graduate programming, including professional organizations, chamber events, and community development opportunities.Creates and maintains connections with MBA and graduate business alumni to support course-related initiatives, special events, reunions, and professional networking opportunities.Contributes actively to faculty and ad hoc committees focused on advancing the graduate business program.Manages data integrity on graduation lists, student population, sigma beta delta honor society eligibility, and awards.Performs other work-related duties as assigned to support program and institutional goals.QUALIFICATIONS :
Earned doctorate in management or business-related field or MBA and graduate-level teaching experience, suitable forteaching graduate level leadership, management, and business-related courses.Preferred candidate has demonstrated success in a tenured or long-term faculty role within a business program.Six or more years of previous administrative, teaching, and advising experience at the university level.Faculty rank and tenure-track status of faculty position to be determined based on credentials.Experience directing or working with an MBA / Graduate Business program from an IACBE-accredited school is preferred.Teaching experience, in particular, experience with online and hybrid course instruction is required.Excellent communication and writing skills, follow through and sense of urgency to student and faculty tasks required.Commitment to the MBA / Graduate Business program and Elms College are essential.TO APPLY
