General Description
The Program Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, advising, and supporting participants to ensure successful completion of programs offered through UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ's Center for Economic & Workforce Development ( CEWD ).
This role oversees the planning, organization, management, and evaluation of assigned programs. The Program Coordinator assists in developing educational and training initiatives, works closely with instructors, monitors student participation and progress, and collaborates with funders to provide required information and reports.

Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities
• Develop recruitment plans and recruit participants for in CEWD educational, training, and supportive work programs.
• Develop and implement outreach initiatives, including presentations at client orientations and Union County American Job Centers, participation in partner events, and promotion through social media campaigns.
• Assist with the development and implementation of new programs based on funder requirements and emerging workforce needs.
• Establish program standards, goals, policies, and procedures to ensure successful delivery and compliance.
• Provide programmatic and fiscal oversight of assigned programs.
• Schedule and implement pre-intake and post-intake assessments.
• Schedule and implement Certification testing with instructors and student services staff. Monitor results and schedule retakes as needed.
• Conduct team meetings to review attendance, participation, and progress, and overall status of the program.
• Maintain accurate program records related to recruitment, assessment, enrollment, advising, and job placement.
• Coordinate with CEWD team and participate in job fairs, career days, and other hiring events relevant to program participants.
• Conduct post-program evaluations to assess student outcomes and program effectiveness.
• Serve as a liaison with partner agencies, employers, and community organizations.
• Respond promptly to all program-related inquiries and requests.
• Interpret and communicate College and CEWD policies and procedures effectively.
• Recommend and implement improvements to departmental procedures; collaborate with staff, administrators, and instructors to enhance efficiency and communication.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support CEWD in achieving its contractual and organizational goals.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree required.

Experience
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with local, state, or federal programs.
• Experience in proposal writing preferred.
• Familiarity with occupational training programs, educational planning, and career goal development preferred.

• Excellent customer service, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and social media platforms.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact tactfully and courteously with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply College and departmental policies and procedures related to student services.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Initiative and resourcefulness in addressing program and participant needs.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners.
• Commitment to serving a diverse student population.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Discretion in handling confidential student and staff information.
• Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to travel locally as required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

Physical Demands and Work Environment
• This position's duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.

• Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

• Some travel required.

Salary
$57,065-$60,000

We also offer twenty vacation days, ten paid holidays, and a ten-week summer work schedule which allows the college to close on Fridays. Other additional benefits include gym privileges, tuition remission for credit and non-credit courses at UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ, and tuition reimbursement for an approved degree program at an accredited college or university.

Terms of Employment
Hours not to exceed 25 per week. Flexible schedule to meet department needs. Some evening, weekends, and extended hours will be required. Ability and willingness to travel on short notice to all on and off- campus sites as needed by the college. Employee must establish primary residency in New Jersey within one year of appointment unless an exemption applies
