Job Summary
The Maintenance Specialist II will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.
Primary Job Functions
- Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- Perform general maintenance and repair of building structures and their mechanical, electrical, and sanitary systems throughout the buildings. Assist co-workers with maintenance of Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry and CEP.
- Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Effective and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations.
- Performs other related functions assigned or as they become apparent Knowledge / Skills
- May do one or more of the following : assist licensed trades personnel; perform Utility or General Clerk duties; assist in the training of new staff; prepare biohazard waste for transportation; perform / assist in moving / relocating of furniture / office equipment; be required to work evenings, weekends or during off-hours.
- Able to read gauges and meters.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.Busy environment with frequent interruptions and routine changes in work schedule.Must be able to pass a local background check and have the ability to obtain and maintain NAC / LAC clearance after hire.Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalentThree (3) years of experience in general maintenance / repair techniquesKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.Knowledge of General Carpentry, Mechanical and / or Electrical repair.Ability to use hand tools and power tools.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Previous knowledge following HIPAA privacy guidelines without deviation when handling protected health information.Disclaimer
