Title : Certified OR Tech / Surgical Technologist (CST)
Location : Springfield, OR
Duration : 13 Weeks
Shift : Day Shift – 3x12-Hour (06 : 45–19 : 15)
Job Responsibilities
Function as a Certified Surgical Technologist in a high-volume acute care operating room
Scrub and assist surgeons during a wide variety of complex surgical procedures
Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
Maintain sterile field and adhere strictly to aseptic technique and universal protocols
Anticipate surgeon needs and provide instruments, sutures, and supplies efficiently
Assist with patient positioning, skin prep, draping, and intraoperative support
Perform accurate specimen handling, labeling, and documentation
Participate in trauma cases and emergency surgical procedures
Demonstrate strong proficiency in robotic-assisted surgery , including Da Vinci Xi and DV5 systems
Support major vascular procedures including AAA repairs, carotids, and femoral cases
Assist with neurosurgical procedures including craniotomies and spine cases
Support ophthalmology cases including vitrectomies, cataracts, and retinal procedures
Function independently across multiple service lines without reliance on vendor reps
Participate in on-call coverage as required
Document procedures and equipment usage accurately in EPIC
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist – Required
Level II Trauma experience required (Level I preferred)
Prior travel experience required
Strong experience in high-acuity, fast-paced OR environments
Proven expertise in the following service lines :
General & Trauma Surgery
Orthopedics (total joints, trauma; must scrub without sales rep support)
Neurosurgery (craniotomies, spine)
Vascular Surgery (AAA, carotids, femoral cases)
Robotics (Da Vinci Xi & DV5)
Ophthalmology (vitrectomies, cataracts, retina, scleral buckles)
GYN, Urology, ENT, Plastics, Thoracic, Bariatrics, Transplant
Comfortable functioning independently during limited-support shifts
Strong knowledge of sterile processing, instrumentation, and surgical equipment
Ability to manage a busy OR with high daily case volume
Required Certifications & Licensure
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Required
Certification through NBSTSA or NCCT (NCCT must be from an accredited program with required clinical and didactic hours)
Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Preferred
