Work as part of a highly skilled team to help develop, maintain, and support print related products on the mainframe platform. Assist with coding, testing, and debugging tasks while learning established development practices and mainframe workflows. Support the enhancement of existing print processes by investigating issues, documenting findings, and implementing guided fixes. Participate in troubleshooting efforts, collaborating with more experienced team members to understand root causes and learn effective problem solving techniques. Contribute to code reviews and design discussions, applying feedback to strengthen technical skills and engineering judgment. Partner with teammates and cross functional groups to ensure smooth integration and support of print services. Help maintain documentation for systems, processes, and technical decisions to support team knowledge sharing. Build foundational expertise in mainframe technologies, tools, and best practices through hands on work, mentorship, and continuous learning. We're looking for someone who is highly process oriented and committed to maintaining clear, accurate workflows.
The ideal candidate is detail driven, able to thoroughly document issues, decisions, and alternatives, and skilled at reviewing both code and documentation with precision. They should be a strong problem solver who digs beneath symptoms to uncover root causes and is eager to build deep expertise in technologies such as z/OS, PLX, and Assembler. This role also requires a proactive mindset toward improving team efficiency-identifying, creating, or enhancing tools and processes as needed. Responsibilities:

Uses judgment within defined policies and practices. Ensures design and code development incorporates latest technologies and maximizes resources. Makes decisions and recommendations on priorities, design changes, improvements, and problem resolution. Defines, recommends, and implements software alternatives and solutions which will achieve a high level of efficiency and customer satisfaction. Advises other professionals on complex software product issues related to own discipline. Leads professional teams and significant project planning activities, ensuring that development is completed in a timely and cost effective manner. Accountable for completion of team or departmental results and activities and or projects involving multi functional teams on or ahead of schedule while achieving or improving cost and quality objectives. Decisions have a direct and significant effect on project/team objectives and directly impact customer satisfaction, cost, quality and expense Provides on-going technical guidance and leadership for software development projects within the team or functional area. Thoroughly understands and effectively executes existing software development processes and procedures and develops new approaches as appropriate. Actively participates in defining and deciding upon objectives which support the changing business needs. Contributes to development of organizational goals. Failure to accomplish would normally have serious results and substantial additional l resources to correct. Ensures accurate and thorough documentation is maintained for the project.
