Project & Business Context
This is a migration and modernization initiative. The team is actively migrating legacy systems as part of broader future-state architecture work, including alignment with a SAFe (Scaled Agile) environment. This is a backfill for a contractor who rolled off, so they're looking for someone who can step in, stabilize existing work, and help fill process gaps as the program continues to evolve.
What You'll Be Working On
Day to day, this engineer will be hands-on with Java and Python-based backend services, with some light frontend exposure using React or Angular
(nothing UI-heavy). The focus is on supporting migration-related development, maintaining and enhancing existing systems, and contributing to future-state
work as the platform modernizes. There may be light exposure to AI concepts, but AI is not a core requirement at this level -interest or self-driven learning is sufficient.
How This Role Is Positioned
This is a solid mid-level contributor role. The team is not looking for someone to radically redesign systems, but rather a dependable
engineer who can execute well, fill process gaps, and keep things moving forward. You'll work within established patterns and collaborate closely with leads and engineers.
Key Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong backend experience with Java and/or Python
• Some frontend exposure to React or Angular (doesn't need to be deep)
• Experience working on enterprise systems or migration-related initiatives
• Familiarity with Agile / SAFe environments is a plus
• AI experience is nice to have, not required

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $53.50 - $56.00/hr.
