Contracting Specialist
Help determine alternatives to procurement procedures for proper completion of contracting assignments.
Inspect completed contract work to identify deficiencies that require correction.
Monitor contractor performance and ability to deliver products, services, and systems to contract schedule and within cost.
Gather program information from a variety of sources to resolve issues surrounding work operations and contract support.
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
This position will require travel, 76% of the time or greater, from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing knowledge of performance evaluation methods and surveillance plans and techniques for oversight of contractor performance; 2) Monitoring a full range of contracts, contracting plans, and contracting changes for propriety of acquisitions methods, contract type, and documentation; 3) Developing pre-award and post award schedules and cost estimates for new solicitations or contract modifications; and 4) Providing technical guidance on contract contractual performance requirements.
