About the Role
At Home Helpers Home Care, we believe exceptional care starts with an exceptional team. As our Team Development Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in building, developing, and supporting a high-performing caregiving team that delivers compassionate, reliable in-home care.
This position is perfect for someone who loves connecting with people, coaching for growth, and leading by example. In addition to recruiting, onboarding, and developing caregivers, you’ll step in to provide hands-on support and training in the field when needed, helping ensure continuity of care and reinforcing best practices.
What You’ll Do
Recruitment & Onboarding
Be a proactive talent champion by:
- Posting and managing job openings with creativity and strategy
- Screening applicants and conducting engaging, behavior-based interviews
- Making thoughtful hiring decisions that strengthen our team
- Managing sponsored job postings within budget guidelines
- Leading upbeat, consistent new-hire orientations
- Supporting new caregivers throughout onboarding so they feel welcomed, prepared, and confident
- Communicating staffing needs clearly with the scheduler and office team
- Anticipating future staffing demands to ensure seamless client coverage
Training, Development & Field Support
Model a growth-focused, hands-on coaching approach by:
- Training caregivers on procedures, best practices, and client-care expectations
- Providing in-field training and support when needed to reinforce skills and confidence
- Stepping in to help cover caregiver shifts when necessary, ensuring uninterrupted, high-quality client care
- Tracking required certifications and training to ensure compliance
- Maintaining systems that support ongoing caregiver growth and success
- Encouraging continuous learning and professional development
Performance Support
Lead with supportive accountability by:
- Identifying skill gaps and coordinating additional training
- Addressing performance concerns promptly, respectfully, and professionally
- Coaching caregivers toward improvement and excellence
- Recognizing growth and celebrating team successes
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Demonstrate attention to detail by:
- Ensuring adherence to all regulatory and company standards
- Implementing quality assurance practices that elevate client care
- Maintaining accurate, organized employee and training records
- Safeguarding compliance with legal and licensing requirements

Essential Qualifications
- Active CNA license (or willing to obtain within 6 months from hire)
- Comfort and proficiency with computers and administrative systems
- Excellent phone presence and communication skills
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to provide hands-on care, training, and shift coverage as needed
- Genuine commitment to caregiver growth and development

Availability
- Flexible availability between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM as needed
- Participation in a standby rotation to help ensure client coverage and phone support
- Ability to step in for shift coverage and field support when needed
