Compensation: $37.50 – $56.25 per hour
Bonus: Sign-on bonus up to $5,000 + Relocation assistance up to $2,000

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cytotechnologist to join our Anatomic Pathology team in Macon, GA. This role is ideal for candidates with recent, hands-on diagnostic experience and strong expertise in both gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and screen cytologic specimens following established procedures
• Examine microscopic slides for diagnostic evaluation
• Issue final diagnostic reports for negative GYN cases and preliminary reports for others
• Collaborate with pathologists on complex cases
• Perform quality control and quality assurance activities
• Maintain accurate patient specimen identification throughout processing
• Assist with fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures and ensure quality standards
• Document workload and maintain operational efficiency
• Support training and mentoring of junior staff and students
• Follow all safety protocols to prevent exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Cytotechnology, Biology, or related life sciences
• Completion of an accredited Cytotechnology program

Experience:

• Recent diagnostic cytology experience (within the past year preferred)
• Strong experience in:
  • Gynecologic cytology
  • Non-gynecologic cytology (all body sites)
  • Hospital/laboratory settings
• Preferred: Experience with rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE), especially EBUS/EUS procedures
