The Science Team at Pride Health is currently supporting a client in the Pharmaceutical industry and has opening of Process Engineer in Vacaville, CA.
Position Summary:
Process Engineer I provides hands-on technical support for Process Analytical Technology (PAT) systems deployed on the manufacturing floor. These systems are critical for monitoring cell culture performance by measuring parameters such as cell density, viability, and metabolite concentrations. This role supports the day-to-day operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability of PAT instruments to ensure consistent manufacturing performance in a GMP-regulated environment.

Pay range: $26 to $ 36/hour on W2 as per your experience
Contract Length: 6-7 Months with the possibility of extension
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration checks, and system readiness activities for PAT instruments, including cell counters and metabolic analyzers (e.g., Cedex Bio, Cedex HiRes, Cedex Cobas).
- Support manufacturing operations by responding to instrument-related issues, troubleshooting performance concerns, and documenting findings.
- Assist in the investigation of unplanned equipment events using structured problem-solving tools and contribute to root cause analysis.
- Conduct health monitoring equipment and participate in reliability improvement initiatives to enhance system uptime.
- Execute planned equipment modifications, minor upgrades, and configuration updates under guidance from the PAT System Owner.
- Review and interpret instrument data to identify trends, abnormalities, or performance deviations.
- Support data integrity practices and maintain data consistency within systems such as Smartline Data Cockpit.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Automation, Quality Assurance, and external vendors to ensure systems function as intended.
- Assist with documentation updates, tracking of work activities, and preparation of technical summaries.
- Work independently to complete assigned tasks while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
Education & Experience: - Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Prior hands-on experience with analytical systems is required.
- Experience operating cell counters and metabolite analyzers (e.g., Cedex Bio, Cedex HiRes, Cedex Cobas) in GMP Manufacturing or Quality Control laboratories preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies - Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) within biopharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- General understanding of biotech analytical methods and laboratory practices.
- Experience troubleshooting analytical instruments and interpreting equipment performance data.
- Familiarity with data management systems; experience with Smartline Data Cockpit preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate technical situations and implement corrective actions.
- Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including technical documentation and stakeholder reporting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with operators, engineers, scientists, and external vendors.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and business needs.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build productive working relationships.
