Responsibilities

We are seeking a Software Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and scale-out of enterprise-grade solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role will drive cloud strategy, platform engineering, modernization initiatives, and operational excellence while leading high-performing engineering teams.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in cloud-native architectures, strong people leadership experience, and the ability to align engineering execution with strategic business objectives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in API development using Python/Go.

• 5+ years of Infrastructure as code experience using Terraform or similar templates

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform.

• Strong experience with Kubernetes (GKE preferred).

• Experience with cloud networking, IAM, and security architecture.

• Proven experience delivering large-scale, highly available systems.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale cloud migrations.

• Multi-cloud exposure (AWS/Azure + GCP).

• Experience with Data platforms (BigQuery, Databricks).

• Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization.

• GCP Professional Architect or Professional Cloud DevOps certification.Depending on factors such as business unit requirements, the nature of the position, cost and applicable laws, American Express may provide visa sponsorship for certain positions.
