The Hospital Based Skilled Nursing Facility has an opportunity for a Director of Nursing. The DON has 24-hour / 7 day per week responsibility for all patient care activities for the HBSNF and for reviewing performance in relation to recognized standards. Our facility provides care to a 48 bed unit and we are looking for a leader who will embrace our residents, families, community members and teammates with our four values : Respect, Compassion, Collaboration and Integrity.

He / she functions as a primary public relations representative for the facility and staff in dealing with medical staff, patients, and families under his / her care or supervision. Has quality and fiscal responsibility for the HBSNF.

This is not a position for the faint of heart because tremendous heart is required in the work. A passion for quality, safety, fiscal stewardship and a strong ability for communication would be top strengths for the candidate. This team is looking for a leader who will guide them through the care process while also helping the team develop knowledge, skills and abilities.

Our leader will possess a broad knowledge of legal aspects of nursing care and regulatory requirements. Critical thinking is required to insure the best stay for our residents and also the best fiscal outcome for the care we provide. This leader will have full access to patient health information.

Requirements :

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina. BSN required; would consider significant progress toward completion of BSN.

Management experience required.

Related clinical experience is required for area of responsibility.

Medicare Skilled Nursing Facility experience.

Knowledgeable in Skilled Nursing Facility state and federal requirements.

Problem solving and leadership abilities.

Great kindness and communication skills.

Proactive v. Reactive.

Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
