Medical Assistant

In keeping with the philosophy of Dignity Health and under the direction and supervision of the Manager and / or Medical Director, the Medical Assistant will assist licensed medical staff in the preparation of patients for delivery of services utilizing basic administrative clerical and technical skills. Duties include but are not limited to :

• Front Office - handling incoming calls and direct them as necessary. Register and pre-register patients, ensure insurance authorizations have been obtained if required. Schedule appointments and coordinate procedures as necessary. Inform and educate patients on preparations for scheduled exams. Enter orders using computer system and handle super-bill as necessary. Take payments.
• Back Office - assist with procedures as needed, process specimens / lab samples as needed and take vital signs.
