Operating under the Tradename “Timewise,” the team has a strong legacy of operating excellence in the Texas market and takes pride in their customer service and bottom-line focus. Recently acquired by Shell, Texas Petroleum Group is being operated independently as a wholly owned subsidiary and entering a phase of significant transformation and growth.

An HSSE Claims Administrator plays a crucial role in insurance and risk management operations.

Responsibilities:

Claims function:

• Assess incoming general liability claims against the company policy. Including, but not limited to property damage, personal injuries, etc.
• Determine TPG’s total exposure to each claim and either handle claim internally or escalate to Broadspire or to Legal counsel.
• Follow Client Insurance instructions.
• Review insurance and legal billing statements and invoices for accuracy and coordinate payment with Manager approval and payment of invoices.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and maintain and report all monthly and annual regulatory reporting requirements.
• Manage claim exposures from inception to completion. The examiner must gather accident facts, determine liability exposure, make appropriate recommendations, and directly negotiate claims settlements with claims solution company or our outside Legal counsel.
• Develop and continually update a plan of action, including maintaining an effective log to bring the claim to resolution promptly. Manage file inventory using an effective record system and document claim file activities under established procedures.
• Document general liability claim processes.
• Alert your Manager of high-risk and high-liability claims immediately and keep the HSSE Manager informed through the whole cycle of the claim.
• Maintain and update a spreadsheet showing all outstanding claims, settled claims, lawsuits currently pending against TPG.
• Be an advocate for TPG to minimize frivolous and fraudulent claims against TPG.
• Communicate directly with 3rd party claimants, regulatory bodies, independent adjusters, appraisers, and attorneys.

Legal function:

• Report lawsuits and letters of representation to the HSSE Manager, appropriate carriers, and defense attorneys, and assemble necessary materials for litigation.
• Attend necessary depositions and court hearings or coordinate other’s attendance.

Requirements:

• Familiarity with MS Office and Teams.
• Strong organizational skills to track claims and lawsuits.
• Strong communication skills to be able to explain outstanding claims and what is being done to resolve them.
