About the job : The Veterinary Assistant position will assist the hospital in delivering excellent care to all of our patients within the hospital. Perform Veterinary Assistant duties pursuant to Veterinary Emergency Care @ Wash Park Protocols. Embodies the culture in treating every client with the utmost courteous and attentive treatment possible, with a keen sensitivity to the emotional bond between owners and their pets.

How you'll make a difference

• Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity
• Provide support to all veterinarians and veterinary technicians
• Provide comfort, diagnostic, surgical and nursing care to all patients including critical care patients
• Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing including but not limited to blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, urinary catheter sampling and free catch urine
• Perform various laboratory procedures including but not limited to blood typing, cross matching, and slide agglutination testing
• Accurately take and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiograph while following appropriate radiation safety protocols
• Properly use and maintain medical equipment
• Provide professional client communication

Schedule : Sunday through Tuesday, 7 : 00am - 3 : 00pm

Salary : $19.00 - $23.00 / hour, based on experience

Benefits : Part time employees are not eligible for benefits

Base Pay

$19—$23 USD
