Forestry Intern

Distinguishing Features of the Class

This is a responsible professional internship assisting in developing and implementing urban forestry programs. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the City Forester.

120-Day assignment working up to 40 hours weekly depending on available work. Typical employment duration is 4 consecutive months.

Acceptable Experience and Training

• Completion of one (1) year in an accredited Environmental Science program with course work in urban forestry environmental science dendrology spatial sciences plant pathology entomology arboriculture or stormwater.
• Or any other combination of experience and education that provides the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.
• Preferred experience with Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and ArcGIS.
