To meet our growth goals, we are adding a Survey technician to the team. The Field Installation Helper supports the layout and installation of HVAC and plumbing systems on commercial construction sites. This role works closely with field foremen and layout technicians to ensure accurate installation according to plans, specifications, and plumbing codes.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and specifications.
Establish and mark control points, elevations, and layout lines on job sites.
Operate layout equipment such as total stations, GPS units, laser levels, and related tools.
Collaborate with project teams to verify dimensions, resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper placement of structural elements.
Prepare and maintain layout logs, field notes, and documentation for project records.
Assist with site surveys, quantity verification, and as-built measurements.
Monitor layout accuracy throughout the project and make adjustments as needed.
Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, company policies, and OSHA regulations.
Communicate clearly with superintendents, foremen, and project managers regarding layout progress and needs.
Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot layout equipment.
Qualifications :
1–3+ years of experience as a layout technician, survey technician, or related construction role.
Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents.
Proficiency with layout tools : total station, robotic total station, GPS system, transit, laser level, etc.
Solid understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and tolerances.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and lift 50+ lbs.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
