JOB SUMMARY
Carries out engineering assignments concerned with the planning and design of mechanically functioning equipment and processes. Performs drawing reviews from Drafters / Designers. Supports Engineers for simple to medium level complexity projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs mechanical equipment, systems and processes.
- Performs calculations and analyses to ensure suitability of design.
- Solves problems related to the assembly, repair and test of environmental control systems.
- Under general supervision, performs assignments which involve responsibility for a secondary project or a part of a major project.
- May give direction to Drafters / Designers.
- Works with colleagues in the department and in other departments.
- Writes reports as required.
- Presents designs to peers, other engineers and customers.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities required)
Must be a US Citizen.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BSME from accredited collegeExperience in designing mechanical components / subsystems and applying ASME Y14.5M .Works under constant supervision.Performs assignments of mild complexity and assists other Engineers.Knowledge of drawing and drafting standards.Knowledge of applied thermodynamics and mechanical design.Experience in the development of military or aerospace equipment is a strong plus.Understanding of military specifications, environmental specifications, and test specifications a plus.Experience with electrical and electrical circuits and control theory a plus.Hands-on test and hardware experience is desired.
