A Technology Sales Engineer role (what we internally call a, 'Brand Technical Specialist') within IBM storage means co-creating with clients and colleagues in one of the most trusted, respected and awarded teams in it's space. Your role and responsibilities

As a Brand Technical Specialist you'll work closely with clients to develop relationships, understand their needs, earn their trust and show them how IBM's industry leading solutions will solve their problems whilst delivering value to their business.

  • Storage Strategy Creation : Creating client strategies for storage solutions.
  • Enhanced Storage Solutions : Defining IBM storage options to improve existing technology.
  • Proof of Concept Delivery : Providing proofs of concept and simplifying technical topics for client understanding.
  • Complex Cloud Deal Closure : Building trust to successfully close complex cloud tech deals.

Required education

Associate's Degree / College Diploma

Preferred education

Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Effective Communication and Relationship-Building : Successful communication and relationship-building in enterprise and SMB environments.
  • Pre-sales Expertise : Experience in pre-sales, sales engineering, or consulting, working with client subject matter experts to scope and demo solutions.
  • Technical Proficiency : Strong technical skills and a passion for Storage technologies.
  • Sales Success : Track record of success in Technology Sales.
  • Experience : 5 years of experience in Information Technology, storage administration, or a relevant field
  • Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Comprehensive Understanding of the Storage Market : Possess a solid knowledge of the Storage market, enabling you to consult and advise, and swiftly build your reputation as a credible, trusted advisor for your clients (training on IBM's Storage offerings will be provided).

  • The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.

    This position is eligible for participation in an IBM Sales Incentive plan. Actual incentive opportunity will be based on performance and the eligible Target Incentive, as addressed in the applicable plan, all of which is subject to change. The compensation range listed for this position is the IBM Reference Salary that is used when you are not actively participating in a sales plan. Your actual base pay plus incentive opportunity will be determined by the Incentive Plan assigned to you.
