Job Description

Field Service Engineer - Theatrical Lighting & Control Systems

Location : NEW YORK STATE (Travel Required)

Bring the Lights to Life - Commission the Magic Behind the Curtain!

Do you love that moment when the house lights fade and your work takes the stage? We're looking for a Field Service Engineer to commission and support ETC theatrical lighting and control systems across performance venues, schools, and architectural spaces throughout New York State .

What You'll Be Doing

Commission, test, and troubleshoot ETC lighting and control systems at customer sites
Verify wiring, networking, and configuration for theatrical and architectural applications
Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and project managers during installation and startup
Provide onsite training and technical support for end users and facility staff
Maintain detailed documentation and service reports for every project
Travel throughout New York State to support multiple venues and projects

Your Toolkit

Solid understanding of entertainment lighting systems, DMX networking, and control protocols

Familiarity with ETC products (Echo, Paradigm, Sensor3, EOS, Mosaic, etc.)

Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and architectural plans

Experience with electrical testing, system calibration, and commissioning procedures

Excellent troubleshooting and customer-facing communication skills

Strong self-management for travel and field-based work

Extra Applause If You Have

ETCP certification, or electrical background (Journeyman or similar)

Previous field commissioning or service experience with lighting control systems

Knowledge of audio-visual integration or rigging systems

The calm confidence to light a stage and solve problems under pressure
