[job_card.job_description]Job Description General Summary : Vertex is seeking to hire an Associate Director, NA Pain Market Research to join the North America Forecasting, Analytics and Insights team. The Associate Director will be responsible for overseeing and delivering commercial insights to inform strategic choices and commercialization decisions for the Pain business unit (BU). Market research workstreams will span functions within the BU including Marketing, Field, and Patient Support.The Associate Director will work alongside the Director of NA Pain Market Research to provide integral support primarily for the US Pain BU and Patient Support team. This person will maintain a pulse on critical business questions and formulate and execute an insights plan (involving either primary market research and / or data analytics) to answer them. Primary focus will be on supporting the US team, but duties may expand to cover Canada. Key Duties and Responsibilities : Work with the Director, NA Pain Market Research and Pain BU stakeholders to formulate a comprehensive insights generation plan to address a spectrum of business questions using the appropriate methodology Function as a key partner to Marketing and other BU functions to provide objective perspective and insights Independently design and execute primary market research that addresses key business questions Define data analytics needed to answer ongoing business questions and oversee its execution Maintain a current summary of all the insights supporting a disease area in the form of an Insights book Develop the situation analysis for the Brand Planning process Knowledge and Skills : Depth of knowledge in a variety of primary market research methodologies; substantial experience managing design and execution of primary market research projects Strong quantitative analysis skills; experience running own analyses as well as partnering with advanced analytics professionals, and interpreting results Domain knowledge real-world data (large scale open or closed insurance claims, EHR), and / or other related data sources from providers and health systems Exceptional written and verbal communication skills – able to synthesize and distill complex information into a compelling narrative Proactive orientation - able to anticipate issues, engage with stakeholders and plan accordingly Demonstrated experience as a trusted advisor and thought partner to stakeholders Comfortable with ambiguity; able to effectively structure problems and solution approaches Education and Experience : Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline Typically requires 8 or more years in bio-pharma marketing, market research and / or analytics, or the equivalent combination of education and experience Pay Range : $157,800 - $236,700 Disclosure Statement : The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
