Must be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred. Exposure to fire protection or mechanical trades. Familiarity with Ridgid 300 threading machines or similar equipment. On-the-job training with experienced technicians. Opportunity to work toward official certification. Overview :
We are seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined individual to join our Special Hazards division as a Technician Apprentice. This is an entry-level role designed for someone eager to learn the trade through on-the-job training while working alongside an experienced Lead Technician as part of a two-person crew.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist the Lead Technician in the installation of special hazard suppression systems.
- Begin as a laborer with a clear path toward certification and technical proficiency.
- Learn to work with piping systems : cutting, threading, fitting, and assembling.
- Utilize and eventually master tools such as the Rigid 300 pipe threading machine.
- Install clean agent cylinders including CO2, FM-200, and other clean agents.
- Follow all safety protocols while working on ladders and in elevated areas.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Receive and apply direction from the Lead Technician on daily tasks.
- Commit to progressing toward a Certificate of Competency in the field.
