Nights, with 8 and 12-hour shifts, every third weekend rotation, and holiday rotation.

Unit Overview :
Join our dynamic 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit, providing care for a diverse and complex patient population, including :
Post-operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections.Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.Patients experiencing hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program.A high volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients, along with medical overflow cases.As a part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII), gain valuable experience with the latest neurosurgical techniques and cutting-edge care.

Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.Completion of an accredited nursing program.Experience :
Typically requires 1 year of previous clinical nursing experience.Skills Required :
Progression towards holistic patient care with an emphasis on patient and family focus.Proficiency in using technology and electronic medical records.Exceptional communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.Effective decision-making and problem-solving abilities.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach, and twist frequently throughout the workday.Capability to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, lift 20 lbs overhead, and carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.Must be able to perform sliding transfers of 150 lbs with assistance.Exposure to potential hazards including chemicals, blood, and communicable diseases - protective wear as required.Functional abilities in speech, vision, hearing, and touch for performing clinical tasks.This job description outlines the general nature and level of work expected.
