Position Overview

Our Engineering team is growing quickly, and we are looking to add a key player to our amazing team! As the Head of Engineering, you will be both a leader and a mentor, and own communication across all teams. This role reports directly to the CEO and partners closely with the Head of PMO, Head of Design, and other department leads. You will have full autonomy + ambiguity with your day-to-day, unmatched resources to develop yourself professionally, and the opportunity to bring some of the fastest growing tech companies in the world to new heights!

Details Of The Role

• Type of Work: Full-time
• Location: Remote, San Diego based preferred
• Pay: $150k/yr + DOE
• Years of experience: 8+ years preferred

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead, inspire, and influence to ensure the success of the team.
• Partner with the recruiting team to attract and retain high-quality and diverse talent.
• Establish a great rapport with other department leaders (Project Management, Growth, Design and Customer Success)
• Provide technical direction and ensure a balance between immediate impact and long-term architectural health.
• Partner with peer functions and organizations to deliver the training and enablement the team requires
• Create, document and implement engineering process that solves for scale
• Ensure that the group remains execution focused and effective in a fast paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.
• Drive continuous systems improvement for managing, documenting, staffing, and reviewing engineering projects and services.
• Define and evolve a technical strategy that aligns with Webstacks' growth goals and client service models.
• Oversee a team of internal developers and manage relationships with contract developers, including offshore talent.
• Build scalable processes for onboarding, evaluating, and integrating contractors and third-party vendors.

What You Bring To The Table

• Experience leading a distributed software engineering organization of multiple teams.
• Strong technical background that allows you to understand, advocate for and support your engineers and engineering leaders.
• Experience building strong partnerships with other job functions, like the Project Management, Marketing, Design, and Customer Success to keep teams collaborating smoothly and working together to improve the product.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technology field required; Masters degree preferred.
• Ability to handle a heavy workload with multiple projects and frequent interruptions.
• Ability to work in a changing, dynamic environment.

• Languages: Ruby, Python (working knowledge)
