Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Dallas, TX 75230 (North Dallas – premier healthcare and lifestyle destination)

Unit : 610 Diabetic Endocrine 6 South (23-bed medical surgical unit)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 9 / 2025 – End : 3 / 10 / 2026)

Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (12-hour night shifts)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1260 - $1350

Weekend Requirement : 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule

Dress Code : Royal Blue Scrubs

Electronic Medical Record : Meditech EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state (required for Texas nursing jobs)

Current BLS certification

Minimum 1 year of recent medical surgical nursing experience

Strong time management and organizational skills

Ability to float to other acute care areas (medical surgical, general surgery, renal transplant, telemetry, neuro, ortho) as needed

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate care to medical surgical patients on a busy 23-bed unit

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using Meditech electronic medical record (EMR) system

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Maintain a safe patient ratio of 1 : 5 for effective nursing care

Perform general med / surg nursing practices and clinical procedures

Float to other acute care units as needed to support hospital operations and clinical staffing

Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and dress code requirements
